Daily Rec: Daft Punk Video Encore

Today’s daily rec comes in the form of a video. Sadly I can’t find any really good quality videos of this, but I think it’s something everyone should be able to experience. I was lucky enough to Daft Punk play on their Alive 2007 tour in Hyde Park, and it was one of the most electric things I have ever seen. I would put this show on the same level as Pink Floyd’s Pulse tours - to give it some perspective!

So here is the, now legendary, encore set from the Bercy, Paris show. I won’t spoil it for those that haven’t seen it already, but I will say make sure you get to at least 4:40.

You know Justice, right? Right? If you do then this post will most likely be useless to you, because you will already appreciate what an impact they’ve been making over the last couple of years. If you don’t know them then I am here to help!

Just for those of you that don’t know Justice are at the forefront of the recent wave of a new breed of house music. Primarily consisting of artists from France, the movement is sometimes known as, or referred to as the French Touch. Artists behind this movement, and particularly Justice, fuse elements of electro-house and glitch house with highly saturated synths to create a very abrasive sound.
