We’ve not had any prog for a while! So lets take a trip with Dream Theatre! Hell’s Kitchen has to be one of the best instrumentals ever. Ok, so it might not be as ‘proggy’ as it gets, but it’s just a nice song, you know? It has everything you could want from a Dream Theatre instrumental, some excellent musicianship, powerful melodies, complex rhythms and above all the ability to keep you hooked right the way through.

So last night I started watching ‘the 4400′. It seems like it’s gonna develop into quite a good series. One thing that I really liked about it was the music. A lot of it was obviously specially composed for the show – but during one montage scene this song was used.
It was perfectly placed, it’s a very chilled song, with a strong sense of melancholy, and almost reminiscence (in an odd sort of way). Very similar to my recent post about Zero 7, it’s a down tempo masterpiece.
