Well once again I’m going to use the phrase ‘crush to lush’ to describe this song. Taken from the most recent album ‘The Last Kind Words’ this track starts off with the typically brutal guitars and vocals… But as you get to the end a wave of melody takes over! The song draws to a close on a beautiful combination of clean guitar and some prog-rock style organ tunes - it’s completely out the blue. Thanks to this song I now have a new found respect for Devildriver! what’s more, apparently they are working on a new album which is going further down this route - I’m hoping for an Opeth inspired masterpiece!
