Daily Rec: Fallin’ Down by the Goo Goo Dolls
Song: Fallin’ Down
By: Goo Goo Dolls
I recently decided that I needed to buy a Goo Goo Dolls album. I’d made several impulse purchases on iTunes of single tracks, but that wasn’t enough any more. So I went into my local HMV and picked up the cheapest one I could find… I think it was about £3.99, so I was (as they say in London) ‘Well-chuffed’!
Little did I know that the album I had chosen, Superstar Car Wash, contained only one good song. Many of you will probably disagree with me on that, but I personally am not a great fan of their ‘punk’ era.
Nevertheless I do feel that the song Fallin’ Down is worth adding to any one’s collection! It’s a nice upbeat rock tune. You can still hear those punk influences creeping through, but the song is driven by a lively chord sequence and some pleasant melodies.
Maybe this song hasn’t got the power behind it as later ‘hits’ such as Iris or Slide, but it makes up for that by restoring some bounce into your day
