I’ve never considered myself a big Snow Patrol fan. I ‘ve never really given them a chance really. However, when I heard Take Back the City on the radio a few weeks ago I was very impressed! It’s a very neat and tidy little song.
I enjoy the initial build up most I think. The final run through before everything kicks in when the drummer adds the snare is particularly impressive! The chorus I have to admit is a little bland for me. But I can put up with it to get to the verses. Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing specifically wrong with it, it’s just a little dry and feels somewhat mass-produced. And after a little searching around it seems others share similar opinions!
Despite that I thoroughly enjoyed this song and I will definitely be checking out the rest of the album!
