Late winter in the city
Song: Winters in the City

Well, it’s a return to an old favourite. I originally blogged about this band last year when I first set up RMB. And now they’re back! I was on the bus home from work last night when this song came on shuffle on my iPod - and since then I’ve gone back to it every other song.
I love how the title of this song shapes the imagery that pops into my head. I’d love to know why the band named it this, I might have to take a trip to Google to find out! I think it’s the clean sounding, groove, with the ethereal lead synth carefully laid down over the top that brings about the picture of a frosty New York skyline to my mind. I can imagine looking out the window of some ultra-modern flat in a skyscraper somewhere, overlooking the crowded streets below, and feeling totally calm and relaxed. That’s how this song makes you feel. It has the busy backdrop of a top house tune, with the general feel and ambience of a beautifully layered New Age chillout song.
Winters in the City works on so many levels and can be enjoyed for so many reasons - it’s well worth a listen!
