A Brief Introduction to Justice, Ed Banger and French Touch Music

January 1st, 2009 Leave a comment

You know Justice, right? Right? If you do then this post will most likely be useless to you, because you will already appreciate what an impact they’ve been making over the last couple of years. If you don’t know them then I am here to help!

Just for those of you that don’t know Justice are at the forefront of the recent wave of a new breed of house music. Primarily consisting of artists from France, the movement is sometimes known as, or referred to as the French Touch. Artists behind this movement, and particularly Justice, fuse elements of electro-house and glitch house with highly saturated synths to create a very abrasive sound.

The movement is synonymous with the label ‘Ed Banger Records’, run by Daft Punk’s old manager, Pedro Winter (or ‘Busy P’). For years this small indie label has supported (mainly French Artists) with this distinctive sound, and now threatens to take over the dance world!

So there you have it - that’s just a brief introduction to the world of Justice and the French Touch. I thought it was best to explain that before attaching todays free mp3 - just to give you some sort of background and bearing on the situation. The free song (Waters of Nazareth), is a fine example of the style I’ve just described, and I hope you enjoy it!
