I Don’t Care
by Space Cowboy

Ok, just a quick one. This artist popped up in my last.fm music player today under the “Le Knight Club Similar Artists Station”. I’m not really sure whether I am allowed to like this music. The motives seem to be similar to the filtered-house stylings of the Daft Punk lot, and the whole ‘French Touch’ scene… But it kinda smacks of pop!

Oh well, I still think this record is fabulous! With a great vocoded sample repeated pretty much right through there’s plenty of energy to get going! On the whole it’s a pretty funky song - relatively simple, as most house music is I guess, but very enjoyable.

The things I enjoy most are the uber-funky bassline! It really reminds me of Thomas Bangalters solo work, which is fantastic! I also love the little synth solo that pops up around half way through the song (you can’t miss it, it’s the bit just after the insane, and almost ridiculously over-emphasised, scratching!)

Yes it’s repetitive, yes it sounds like it belongs firmly in the 90’s somewhere, yes it might not be quite as fresh as other nu-rave and French Touch artists - but it’s a solid little tune and I recommend it thoroughly, especially if you’re a fan of any of the other artists or styles I’ve mentioned in this post!
