Ted

I have no idea why I like this song so much!! It pretty much is just noise! But somehow I find it simply beautiful - even though it sounds quite ‘ugly’ in places!

I was introduced to it when my last.fm player played me ‘Ted (Bibio Remix)’ [which is less of a remix, and more of a 1930's recording of an acoustic version of the song played on a gramophone!]. After hearing it I found the EP on iTunes and downloaded both versions!

I think to be honest this recommendation should include both songs. I feel they are both listened to back to back, with the original being played first, and then the Bibio ‘Remix’; they just sort of make each other make sense.

This song is full of distortion and noises, but behind it is haunting melody (which is really brought to the fore in the remix) that for some reason always brings about a strong sense of nostalgia - although I really have no prior connection to the song! You can imagine the remix being played at the end of a 1970’s American sitcom, where the main character voices over with a moral, or something of that nature!

Anyway, check these songs out - I have a funny feeling they are a kinda love or hate thing, so maybe if you can find a free sample somewhere or search youtube before you buy it’s probably a good idea!
